Here's a pic of my Kahr K9 9mm which replaced the Smith & Wesson 642 J frame 38 special as my main carry gun.

Up until yesterday it was S&W M-59, 14+1 9mm.

Now that my public servants have decided that it must be downloaded to 10+1 rounds, I guess that's as good a reason as any to switch to one of these

It will be the LW Commander on the left, it's about halfway through and home 1911 gunsmithing makeover. 8+1 in .45 ACP is suddenly very attractive versus just 10+1 of 9 mm

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

My daily carry is a Kel Tec PF9; very light, packs a 9mm punch, but not much fun to shoot. Every once in a while, in colder weather, I'll carry my 15-2 with a 4 inch barrel.

+1 on that "not much fun to shoot". I really tried, but OUCH! Maybe the quickest I ever bought and sold a gun.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Steve:

Yeah, everybody who's ever asked to shoot my PF9 has returned it after at most one mag and said "thanks, but no thanks", and that's with 115 gr. ammo! On the plus side, my experience with that nasty little gun has convinced my that my next acquisition will be a Dan in .44 magnum. Recoil no longer intimidated me.

No Glock fans on here?  My carry weapon is an out of the box G23 (.40 S&W) in gen 3. Backup is the G27 (subcompact .40) with the higher capacity mag & sleeve.

I know I'm a newb here, but why no more love for the Glock family than I see on here?  Boston's Gun Bible calls the Glock THE most rugged & reliable of ANY auto handgun.

Glock 27, extended Magazine, Trijicon Combat Night Sights, carried in a Crossbreed holster.  A few extra Mags in each vehicle and usually one in my pocket.

I carry in accordance to where I'm at or going or how I'm going there. What I'm wearing, to the time of year it is. I have carried in the woods in the fall my S&W six inch model 19 which packs nicely in my Bianchi X 2100 Phantom shoulder holster. My go to town guns are my Sig SP2022 or my S&W model 4516 tucked nicely in my inside the waist band holster. Sat around the campfire with my DW 44 loaded with Buffalo Bore 300 grain anti - blue sperm whale loads to toting a High Standard 22 mag nickle derringer in the inside pocket of my beach shorts walking along with my family. Go ahead and laugh, but the High Standard I own is like new and is 100% reliable. And at 7 feet it will put an impressive spread to cover an opponents face. And a face full of small magnum  "Rat/Snake" shot will pretty much ruin someones day. And it heightens my sense of security when I'm standing on the beach in just shorts and sandals with my favorite carry piece is locked in my SUV.

My carry is a Ruger LCP. Compact, easy to conceal. Not a range gun, but that is not it's purpose :-) range-time

Currently a Gen 4 Glock 19, not much to look at but a great carry piece.

LCP for me. I found that before I purchased it, that I didn't carry very often, because of the hassles involved. Now I carry always, in a talon wallet holster. I honestly forget that its there.

Glock 23.  Can't find much else that is as reliable, accurate and just fits...

BTW, the LCP is VERY rarely far away. Ruger ripped off KelTec, but they got it right in every respect

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Normally my p64 in 9x18 (6+1), or the Glock 30, then the North American arms in 22mag in the pocket anytime/all the time!  Dan isn't far way!
