I carry my DW as a user gun around the ranch, for protection (me and livestock) from a lot of things four legged, and the possibility of two legged (I've had a hand full of run ins, nothing involving guns yet but with the price of cattle, rustling is on the rise - but I'm not out for a gun fight, just have it in case...). I'm on a horse some, a four-wheeler some, a ranch beater truck ('65 landcruiser) some and foot a lot, fixing fence, putting out salt/mineral blocks, repairing water tanks, etc. So I need a way to carry and still provide a decent amount of protection for my gun. So that's the background for my DW carry. I carry a model 15 porkchop with 6" barrel.
With that, I find the crossfire holsters excellent for this, and specifically the crossfire stealth in size medium frame. http://crossfiregear.com/holsters/revolvers.html (If this link is not kosher for the DWF please delete). Additionally I carry HKS speedloaders in an HKS double pouch.
I also carry a Taurus PT99 9mm (double stack) in a crossfire traverse and that works perfect as well for similar carry purpose.

Depends on the intended use.
DeSantis produces a full line of holsters, belts, and accessories, and their products are very widely available.
I own several holsters and magazine holders, and I use their belts for everyday wear.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I have not carried a revolver for several years, when I did it was a deSantis Cozy Partner which is IWB, and possibly not available for revolvers anymore
THIS item from Galco might be what you are looking for

I use the fletch high rise from galco, ordered the one for the 4" Dan Wesson .357 oddly enough it fits my 4" model 15 just about perfect. It was a little tight for the first couple times I took it out I like it cause with a coat or jacket it disappears and I don't have to worry about any odd looks but in the summer I can carry it open as in GA if you have a weapons permit there is no difference between open/concealed carry.

I have found that holsters built for S&W L-frames (686) fit my model 15's well. This leaves the possibilities wide open. K-frame size holsters are too small. I have a lot of used holsters found on ebay or gun broker, some fairly old, that work well.
The only one I've bought new is a Galco Combat Master 2 1/2 inch, I like it a lot.

Thanks again for all the links/info, folks. In the Galco drop down menu, I see an option for a 2.5" barrel. I believe mine to be 3" unless I am measuring it wrong. Will this be a problem or is Galco using a different standard of measure? I am measuring the actual length of barrel from just forward of cylinder to the muzzle.

If it's a replaceable barrel model, it's either 2 1/2 or 4 inch. Measure from the barrel/cylinder gap to the muzzle end. There were some 3 inch fixed barrel models made later. In fact, I'm watching one on gun broker now. Bid away fella's, I'm just looking & already spent my small roll on a new Palmer.
Edit: forgot to add, the Galco Combat Master is open at bottom. So if you don't mind 1/2 inch sticking out it'll work. Or get the 4 inch holster.

I don't see a Gunbroker item, but as noted, you could easily use a holster for a 2 1/2" with no problem, as long as it is open at the muzzle end.
The sizing you see on Galco will almost always default to the "S&W standard" of 2 1/2" or 4".
Any S&W K or L holster will work. A few tips on "fitting" a leather holster
1) Do all fitting at room/household temperature, and not in a safe
2) Gun should be cleaned and lubed, but not excessively wet
3) Put the gun into a clean, dry THIN sock, and seat the gun into the holster, positioned exactly in the position you want it for carry
4) Over the course of several days, daily unholster and reholster, firmly but not aggressively, your sock covered gun. It's a good idea to remove the sock and allow it to air dry for a few minutes. Maybe give the gun a quick silicone cloth wipe down, and make sure that a clean, dry gun goes back into the sock each time.
This allows you to mold the holster to your gun, and it should go without saying to never long term store a gun in a holster.
