I have a Pointman 7 10mm and it has 1 mag that does not want feed the last 1 to 3 rounds. I know I could send it back but was wondering what would guys buy a Chip McCormick or Wilson Combat to replace it with? By the way this pistol shoots like a dream with very tight groups. Wink

Hoggy- Nice to have another 1911 guy here. I use Chip's in my .45 Pointman, Wilsons have a great reputation. Either should be fine.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks Charger Fan & sdrct. I have a Wilson for .45 auto and never had not one problem so I may go with the Will or maybe one of each. Where is the best place to buy form?

I have a CBOB in 45 and have one of each a Chip McCormick or Wilson Combat I had a couple of failure to feeds with the Wilson but this was my first time shooting the CBOB so not sure if I limp wristed a couple of times because I didn't have the issue again.  I purchased a Chip McCormick for the second trip to the range and it functioned flawlessly.

If you find a good place to buy them online let us know.

Thanks and Good Luck!

Hi,

Been looking around to find more about a Dan Wesson I had, but running across this problem reminded me of a similar issue I had with my Sprinfield Armory 1911.  I was unable to cycle more than 5 rounds through the magazine.  If I loaded more, I would get a jam, unload to 5 and not a problem.  I solved this problem by loading the magazines to full capacity and leaving them for a week.  Apparently the spring tension was so great that it would force the first rounds onto the feed ramp that they would jam.  Maybe this may help.  Oh and my Chip McCormick's did the same thing when first bought.

HOGGY- I normally purchase magazines at Midway. They do list Chip's in 10 mm, but no Wilsons

Robk- I know what your saying there but mine will cycle all but the last 1-2 or 3. It has to be the mag follower becouse when it happens the rounds that are left in the mag are loose and the follower looks to be stuck.

I also have a Springfield 1911 .45 acp with a Wilson combat mag and has never give me any problems BUT I also have 2 DW and 1 works great and the other is giving me fits. I guess every one gets a bad one if you fool with enough of them.
