The 6x8 target was 7 yards as fast as I could shoot and get back on target, friend with me said it was 7 seconds. The other was IIRC 170g cone shaped cast that wouldn't feed in my Colt DE that I tried in the DW. They worked fine in the DW, but accuracy not great. I set the rest aside to try in the Contender, but later ended up pulling the bullets in the rest of the rounds. I have never been able to fault the Zero brand bullets, they have always been excellent performers.

So what's not to like?
Seriously, are the CT Laser Grips worth the $$$? I'd like to invest some love (spelled $$$) on my DW 1911, but won't have it altered from it's originally manufactured form.
On the other hand, my aging eyes really like red dots and laser sights, so maybe this would be a way for me to shoot up to my gun's potential.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Very Nice!
It may just a coincidence, but Dan Wesson really began building a widespread reputation for top quality 1911's during the CBOB era. Might be able to make a case for CBOB really putting DW on the 1911 map.

I have not checked this thread in what is obviously too long.. There are some very cool 1911's you guys have posted here. Excellent photos and also the range reports. This makes me really want to go take mine to the range and run a few boxes of ammo down range with it. I really like the Namvet1972's custom Camel Bone POW-MIA grips, they add a different flare to the Marksman they are on. Keep posting the .

I really think Taurus had a good deal going on that .38 Super, pricing was very good on a caliber kind of hard to find readily available in a 1911. The look of all the "bling" really is a little tough for me, if all that gold stuff was in stainless it would be perfect for me.
This PT-1911 was my first 1911 ($348 new in 2008, I think).
I had the slide done in SlickShot and put some nicer grips on it. It always shot well for me, I traded it in on my PM-1S. Kinda wish I hadn't

I really like the Taurus for what it was bought for, home defence and not a high end gun to loose to the "system". Just wished I could do head shots at 25 yards with it like I can with the RZ10. The Taurus doen't have target sights or match grade barrel and built as tight as the RZ, so I guess it'll have to do for the 21' or less it was bought for.
Here's one 8 round group of fast fire from 21 feet, shooting buddy says I had 3 in the air the whole string. He would spot cases for me when I shot, didn't have to for him as he was shooting steel case ammo in his CZ. Out of 64 rounds of 10mm fired I only lost 4 cases in the grass.
I was holding gun high trying to keep a sight picture instead of hold low at mid torso and only pointing. Think I'll go back to looking over top of gun because I'm a little better accurcy wise and little faster I think.
