I have a .38 Super conversion for my Colt 1911.
-->I love it!
It's a great cartridge. More punch than a 9mm, but easy recoil and runs like a dream in the colt.
The +P rounds have velocity like a 10mm. ~1475fps.
I missed the DW on GB.
A .38 Super DW would be a great gun to own!!

.38 Super is a fighting and competition caliber used primarily in the 1911 autoloader to allow for greater magazine capacity and higher velocity/smaller and lighter bullets than the .45 ACP. A fair comparison or analogy would be to compare .44 Special or .45 Long Colt to .357 Magnum. It sort of has the mystique of being the caliber of choice for pure "gunfighters" in autoloaders. Magwells are neat looking and "tactical", and take nothing away from the pistol, not neccessary except for combat or tactical shooting competition. I think that DW .38 Supers would be fairly uncommon.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
