The CBOB has a Full Length Guide Rod (FLGR), I believe. Is there a hex headed nut at the bushing end of the guide rod? This will need to be removed, most dedicated 1911 forums will have more detailed info available, there is a link in Other Forums, I also like m.1911.org.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I also just recently bought a CBOB and initially had the same problem. After removing the slide you need to rotate the barrel bushing back ccounter-clockwise. This allows the “catch” on the bushing to come through the end of the slide. The barrel comes out easily then. I had to play with this a bit as it is not in (or at least obvious) in the manual.
