Took my brand new ECO 45 to the range today after a little cleaning. Loaded up some factory brass ball in the supplied mag, fired 7 flawless rounds, and then the bottom fell out. Or rather, it didn't. Went to drop the mag and nothing. Mag release actuates but sounds gritty. Could not pry the mag out or push it out thru the slide. Went to the smith at the range, and he had to fully strip the gun and unscrew the release to drop the mag. At my FFL the mag dropped fine. Not until the slide locked back after firing did this happen. So, went back out and tried a Kimber tacpro mag instead. 7 flawless rounds downrange, same thing.
I sold a couple other guns to buy the ECO as my EDC. I know problems happen, but did not expect such a massive defect out of the box. Tried calling New York a bunch of times and got voicemail, nobody home. Have submitted in writing.
I'm staring at my brand new pride and joy with a Kimber mag stuck in it!

I'd follow up again by phone, maybe Wednesday or so.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

There is a metal burr where the mag release button is .Ihad the same problem with my ECO ,instead of shipping it to DW I took it to my Gunsmith and it was fixed, without the aggravation of shipping it ,did they get it, when is it going to be fixed stuff.
