All, purchased a CBOB, arriving tomorrow at my FFL dealer. I am having some buyer remorse though based not on money but on the fact that it does not have a FPB. I purchased with the intent of CCW, and I am concerned of possible hammer/sear failure resulting on hammer fall and AD. What do you guys say?

I wouldn't worry---guys have been carrying Condition 3 (cocked and locked) since the 1911 came out-- As long as you follow all the safety precautions, the guns will also.

I've always considered that Condition One. Pretty sure Three is hammer down on empty chamber.

Loaded/Cocked/Locked by any other name is still the only way

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Cocked, locked and ready to rock is how a 1911 should be carried.  But, your mileage may vary.

budman- Welcome to DWF,  nice to have another 1911 guy here. I've had a few KelTecs pass thru my safe over the years as well.

Please stop by New Members when you have a chance and tell us more about yourself, and maybe throw up a picture of the Detective Special.

BTW-Interesting Jeff Cooper article
