Hey Guys, I picked up a used CBOB a few weeks ago (now I'm wondering why it took me so long) and just got my Venezualan Rosewood grips from Sarge yesterday. Below are some pictures of my CBOB with the new grips.

It's a .45.  Around here you're doing good just to find a DW 1911.  I was total shocked when I round a used one.  I have put 200 rounds threw it so far with no issues.

Almost every pistol I get ends up wearing new grips pretty quickly, yours are exactly the look I like to go for. My son tells me that in Texas he almost never sees DW's of any type, I almost always see one of some type in the two places I frequent here in CT.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Dusty- You're right I guess. Monson and Palmer are 30-40 min away, maybe that helps in seeing more of them. I will say that both of the shops I visit with any regularity also seem to have some better pricing than some of the stuff I see here and on the auction sites.

I want one really bad!!!!!  Just don't have the money for one right now even if I could find one.  If you ever decide to sell it let me know because I live just down the road in Lynchburg

Hey esrussel,

I didn't realize we had a member so close to me!

Well I got lucky on this one... Dropped by Trader Jerry's in Salem one afternoon and they had this one and it was used.  As you know in these parts Dan Wesson 1911's are few and far between and used ones are pretty much non-existent!

If I spot one around here I will drop you a note letting you know where it is.

The only DW 1911's I've seen in this area were a couple at the gun show at the Roanoke civic center in January.  Eventually I'll own one, I just don't know when that will be.  I got to get the wife on board with the idea... she thinks I have too many guns already!

I think Sarges grips are a requirement... he is a hero amongst us DW owners and COTEP members.  🙂

I read a lot about Sarges grips on the 1911forum.com.  I love the way they look and handle on the gun.  There are definitely some COTEP members here!

AHHHH...

Good to have you here.
