Been looking at a Dan Wesson Eco 45. The more I look at it the more I like it.

Wanted it for a carry pistol. Never held one, never seen one and surely never shot one.

Just put a deposit down on one. Was told it should be here by Wednesday.

Gonna be hard to sleep till them.

Hope I have chosen a good weapon for concealed carry.

Incase nobody remembers what one looks like here is a reminder

Great gun, you'll like it.  It's one of my favorites for EDC.  They take down a lot easier than other 1911's, different but easier.  Only thing I had to get used to was the shorter sight radius, kept dipping the muzzle, until i réaliséd thé flaw in my grip, nos no problème.

HI,

I just got my ECO from my LGS and havent shot it yet, but i waited 2 months for it. Here in ny you need to ammend your pistol permit with the county clerk so thats why it took so long.  But I got her and she sure is absolutely sweet and pretty.  I dry cycled it about 300 times as part of the break in cycle which beats actually purchasing bullets and have malfunction (due to the break-in period).  So tonight I will surely take her to the range and run a couple of rounds through her.  Hope she shoots as sweet as she looks.  Good luck..

If you haven't done so yet, take the pistol down and remove the factory shipping lube and soak the rails etc with the provided oil, run her wet and she will break in better with less chance of a galling issue.  Also, watch a few youtube videos on tearing down an ECO they take down differently than traditional 1911's, easier in my opinion.  I like the paperclip method.

This one is a decent video.

Thanks again for you help Scorpio,

Yes sure did.  After a 300 time hand cycle i took her apart and completely cleaned all her and oiled her down with the recommended lube.  She gave me not one hiccup.  I ran the rem white box (umc) ammo.  She cycled every time even with me double tapping a few times.  I really enjoyed it and so far my best pistol out the box.  Glad I got it,  and Thanks again for all your help.
