That's just it I don't know much about 1911 styles in Dan Wesson. All I see is advertisements in the mags and articles concerning the different manufacturers and styles of 1911s. One day soon I'll have one in the safe.
This one is a 9, full size and new goes for 1600'ish. Reviews I have read place the model PM9in high regards.
Yes a grand does seem a tad high. As for the year I don't know, thought maybe some could shed a little light.
I'm still a revolver guy.

$1k for a worn out PM9? That thing looks beat on. Go buy one of these for half the price - You'll be glad you did.

I have seen that model in the magazines American Classic made in the philippines were Rock Island originates.
If that Dan PM9 was closer to the price that FFS wants for the AM Commander it would be mine now.
But you are right Harley. Yes you are. This is the kind of feed back I can use.

The Dan Wesson 1911's are first rate and very well made and fitted. I can't tell from the pic if that is a pre CZ gun or not. My main concern is the amount of use you mentioned. I wouldn't bother if it hasn't been well cared for. There a plenty of good PM-9's on Gunbroker that can be had in a similar price range with little use on them. Once you get a Dan 1911 you'll want another the 1911 variant of is also strong.
All my Dan 1911's are very accurate, well made and close tolerance firearms. Keep searching, there are good deals out there. If you don't mind getting a 45 acp, there are a lot of Heritage models on the net, brand new or lightly used for under a grand with case, tool and extra mag and papers.
Like that old ad slogan used to say, 'Try it, you'll like it!'

The PM 9 is well worth 1K, if it's NOT "beat up". I paid $1,400 in 2012 for mine NIB. Very close tolerances and shot to POA right out of the box. I'd go look at it since it's close. If it's not what you want, or you can't reach a selling price, then walk away. Worse thing is that you spent some $ on gas.
