What model is this? I'm no 1911 smith so I'll let someone else diagnose but I'm going to speculate that the trigger may have been 'tuned' a little too much.

So it it a 40 SSC or is it a PM-7? They are all similar, just trying to narrow down the issue. I don't own an SSC but I do have a PM-7 in 45 and in 10mm. Was wondering about looking at mine for comparison.

Call or email Kieth Lawton at Dan Wesson in Norwich NY. They would be the undisputed experts on this issue and the best source for smithing on a Dan. They may even cover the work under warranty since it is a safety issue.
