I'm working on this firearm and am seeing a possible extractor problem, the ejector isn't grabbing the case, which hangs and jams the slide back. Heavily used and not cleaned for at least 2 years (just wrong).

1) Is anything else to consider? (The ramp was black with Carbon buildup.)

2) Will any series 70 1911 ejector replacement work or should I look for a DW specifically.

Gotta say, this is really a solid version of the platform, I'm impressed.

Thank you

DW are Series 70 1911's, quality 1911 parts will work.

Not sure I understand the problem, I think the extractor grabs the case, the ejector kicks the case clear?

In any case, if the ramp (easy to clean) is crapped up, the whole gun is probably pretty bad. Total tear down, detail clean, lube it up good, and try again.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I agree with Steve, it sounds like a good scrubbing is in order. Guns can become very finicky if their appropriate pieces-n-parts aren't allowed to function properly due to gunk buildup.

Sorry, I miss typed. The extractor is not grabbing the case. Trust me, I took it down to components and scrubbed.

Used dummy rounds to test the action. Magazine round pushes up and spend shell stays on top, jamming the slide back.

I'm not a fan of bending extractors, but I think it may be better to start with a new one.

Thank you
