Any one have any ideas where I might find a SSC and what current pricing would be?

I agree, because of the caliber, it may be a difficult search for a DW 1911. But don't give up, there's probably one out there with your name on it. I have found a couple "always wanted/long needed" DW's by biding my time...this one in particular. I waited 20+ years to land my 7445 VH8S...yeah, that's an excruciatingly long time. Life sorta got in the way in between. However, I had dreamed of this baby from the first day I read a magazine article on it.
Just so I don't turn this into a revolver thread, here's my DW 1911, my .45 ACP PMA-B. Dang, looking at that pic makes me wish/long for SUMMER!!

Nice looking gun. I agree on the grips, everyone I've seen looks like somebody used truck bed liner on them. Get a nice set of VZ's or a custom wood set, would really make that gun look pretty.
