There was a fellow on 1911 addicts who posted a 9mm Valor he had the factory make him. This was a few years back, and I've forgotten who it was, and don't seem to have saved any photos. But I was wondering if something like this was something I could request, and who I would talk to. Thanks!

I think you can still do this, and the guy you want to talk to is Keith at Dan Wesson. Under the FAQ 'where can I get parts' tab is a link that has the Dan Wesson phone number. You can give them a call. Let us know what his response is as I'm thinking about doing something similar soon.

I sent Keith an email this morning. Hopefully, he can make this happen! I was looking into a full house build, but I neither want to spend that kind of money on a 9mm, nor would a Valor with a little slide work be lacking anything that I want.

I'm sure they will help you out, but be advised that DW Norwich was pretty much out of business for several months after a fire and relocation. I'm guessing their lead time on new custom work might be pretty long right now
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Well, I got a quick reply from Keith: "I am sorry. We can do something’s but that is one thing we can’t do. We don’t make the slides in house and all of our 9mm 5” slides look like the PM9 slides." Oh well, back to the drawing board.

How about contacting Bob Serva at Fusion Firearms? That's where I'd go for custom build.

I've seen great and downright horrible work from Fusion. Wouldn't spend my money there. I was also hoping to keep this around 2K, maybe $2,300 tops, which won't get me into a full house custom.
