I have a set of Crimson Trace grips for the full size non-bobbed 1911s. I've used them on a PM-7 and a Heritage and they work very well. Only thing is, if full daylight visable range is limited. I find over 7-10 yards, I have a tough time finding the dot.

and a closer look at the bobtail .....
..... my only con would be with the undercut at the trigger guard the activation switch falls between my second and third finger. I have to think about pressing and it keeps me from grabbing as high as I would like..... just my observation .....if I wear a glove it doesn't matter
edit ....... after a little break in the activation is a little easier.... now I can get my grip high under the trigger guard and still press the button.
