I have a person wanting to seel me a Panther but he thinks it's a Pointman... Everything on the pistol is Panther except the fact that the slide is double serrated... Still stamped K03S on slide and Panther on frame. Every Panther I find online has only rear serrated slide... Anyone have any sugestions... The price diff between a Panther and a Pointman is about $400.00.. Help if ya can. On the box it says.. Pointman Series Match Target / K03-S BH. Not sure what the BH stands for. Thanks

I replied to your other post, but this link may help clarify:

The Panther does not appear to feature the front serrations
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

The box my Panther came out of has a label that states the following:
Dan Wesson Firearms
1911 Pistol, Pointman Series
Model K03-S
Match Target
Caliber: 45 ACP
I purchased the pistol new for $600. The pictures were taken the pistol was new.
Ok… I purchased the Panther… 595.00 with box and papers… 99% as new no tax. OK… It looks like yours only polished on sides of silde… serratted front and rear on slide and the model is different… It's marked… K03-S- BH…. Now, If I only knew what the BH stood for I might not feel bad about paying Blue Book on it…. But hey… I'm happy I got my first DW and like my gunsmith say's that's all that matters…LOL
I'm sure the BH has something to do with the slide being different. I'll post pics when I can get to it.

If you paid $595 for a DW 1911, and think you overpaid, I guarantee you about a dozen guys here will take that off your hands for $695, and I might be one of them.
You did just fine on that one!

I think I did ok Steve,
I paid Blue Book 100% for it... You know any 1911 experts on here
that can explain my model number... K03-S- BH..
K03-S is a standard Stainless Panther... Whats got me is the BH...
The sides of the slide are polished and has forward serrated at front unlike the standard Panther. I'll get pics poted as soon as I can. Thanks Max..
Oh and I have looked at the prefix list on this and other sites and no BH listed.

It's possible that BH was an identifier for a special run of pistols for a particular distributor. I know that Ruger MK II's used to have special model numbers for distributors who ordered a large run of uniquely configured guns.

That's what I'm guessing, too. I bet with some we can figure this out.
Oh & congrats Madmax, regardless of what the BH means, I think you got yourself a great deal on a DW 1911.

Ok.... Progress !!!! Yeah... The store that sold the pistol back in 2003 believes the BH stands for Bill Hicks Dist. I now have a call into CZ-USA/ Dan Wesson and also an e-mail to confirm and see if they can tell me what other up grades it might have if spec. from Hick... Let the waitin' begin ! LOL

The only Bill Hicks I know of, is/was a comedian. He died of cancer some years back.
I have three of his CDs, the guy was split-your-gut funny.
