Well Guys,

It looks like my CBOB was stolen from my house last November.  I had Directv come out to upgrade my DVRs and now I can't find the CBOB.  So after much searching since I discovered it missing 3 weeks ago I field the police report and turned it in on my home owners.

So here is one last look at my CBOB with custom Sarge Rosewood Grips.  Cry

No way... Cry  I remember you saying you were still looking for it.  I'll be moving all my guns personally when I load everything up for the move.

Hope the first round he shoots foul's and the second shot squibs and blows his rotten, filthy, sticky fingers off. Now that would be KARMA

Call DirectTV and track down the guy, subject him to a lie detector test! Range Time

Do you have your guns listed on your home owners policy to prove you had them?

I recently bought a program from my FFL called Asset Recovery Kit.  It is a software program that allows you to store all your assets on a thumb drive and copy them to CD's. It allows a massive amount of photos as well as documentation of serial numbers and descriptions of the items as well as their worth.  You don't have to store the info on your computer for a hacker to obtain.  It was around $40.00.  I am soon ready to try it out.  This may be a valuable tool for just such an incident.

Here is a link to the software SMF referred to:

http://www.capturemyassets.com/kit.asp

I currently use an Excel spreadsheet to track my stuff but this sounds better.

I did call Directv and was only able to get his employee ID.  I gave it to the authorities but since he was here on 11/2 and I'm just now reporting it didn't seem like they would do much.

At least the serial number will be reported stolen so if someone ever tries to sell it to a dealer it will come back stolen.

Blacktop, I like your thinking but that thing was an awesome shooter so I'm not holding out for that!

So far all I provided my Insurance Agent was a photo and current prices for a new one on GunBroker.  I'm going to call him this morning and follow-up.

Maybe that will be the only good to come from the recent price jump.Laugh

Guys I use some free software from http://www.huntingnut.com/ called pointblank ballistics software.  I've been using it for years.  it not only does ballistics calculations for us reloaders, but it has an awesome firearms database in it as well.

The only "glitch" I have with it -- I can only print out one sheet of guns for some reason (probably glitch in my computer).  So I have multiple copies of pointblank loaded on my machine.  If you don't have enough guns to fill a sheet of printer paper no worries for you Laugh....

As far as photos go--I think I have photos of everything I own somewhere...

Shoot:

That sounds like a lot of guns.

I just use an XL spreadsheet.  One for my cameras and one for my guns.  Then I sync the file across 5 machines and copy them to a thumb drive kept in my safety deposit box.  Works for me!

What more can be said... that's a crappy deal. Sorry to hear about this Jody. Can't trust anybody these days, except for the quality crew here at the DWF.

Jody - RIP...very sorry.

I don'd trust anyone in our home, and Mrs. Photo is real good at making sure I do my my part prior to the occational worker coming in. I love digital combos on safes.

It's like that in our house too.  My wife never lets me forget that al gun stuff and camera stuff myst be securely hidden before people come into the house.

That's really a terrible loss and an expensive one too.  And those grips, well...

This was definitely a lesson learned the hard way!  I should find out what the insurance will pay next week.  I hope they do the right thing but I'm not hopeful.  I'll post back with the verdict.

No doubt your right, at one time a thief use to lose the hand he stole with, Maybe with a little help from above and some of that KarmaConfused we've been hearing about lately, he will get what he deserves.

That's good, at least there's sort of a happy chapter in this story.
