I hope I'm not just being stupid here (I know-not uncommon for me) but even though they ARE 1911's, the DW 1911's are special. When you are looking for the best quality production 1911 you can get, the answer very consistently comes up from many shooters: Dan Wesson
To beat a DW, you probably need to go Factory Custom or ???
I genuinely believe that old Daniel B. would be very proud to see his name on these guns.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

The PM 9 is number 0073 from this year; test fired 27 FEB. The PM7-10 is an older offering without the Clark style rib on top or front grip checkering. When I picked it up I showed off the fit and finish to a couple of fellas standing around. Pulled the hammer back and let them rack the slide back and forth on what feels like a bed of glass. Showed them the close tolerance on the cuts evident at the back of the slide- they thought it was a custom gun.
