Ok I know Dan Wessons are great production gun's and worth the money. I am making a payment on a Pointman 7 on Tuesday and last time I was at the LGS they had a few CBOB's for $1799
Given the political climate here in California, I seem to be of the opinion get one now why I still can. I know the price is about $100 more than MSRP... My question is, what do you guy's think, price ok all things considered or a little to pricey even for a CBOB?
Thanks

That price really HURTS! Unfortunately, you are a prisoner of the CA approved list.
I can't relate to the value of this gun, I will say that in your very restricted circumstances, you are unlikely to find a better 1911. If you can afford it and it's readily available, you maybe better do it.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yeah I have researched it and for that model here in commiefornia I am kind of stuck on the price, I have seen them for a couple hundred less online but then once you get transfer fees and hassle not to much more to support my local guy...plus he has layaway which is nice and has some value.
so wish me luck if they still have one tomorrow I am getting it:)

First welcome to the DWF. Are you really looking at a CBOB as I don't believe DW made any for about two years now. They may have done a limited run for behind the iron curtain (CA). Either way the only firearm purchases I ever regreted aer the ones I didn't make. Good luck.
P.S. I love my CBOB and would not take that amount for it.

Yeah definitely a CBOB, and definitely mine:) Apparently from what the LGS said they are filling their back orders. I figured I better get one now while I still can and as far as the price goes, probably going to be more expensive and harder to get when off list.
One of the guy's at the shop said he bought one last year and a customer wanted to buy it from him... He was reluctant but the $2500 offer was to good to pass up.

DW kept the CBOB going for CA because it was an approved gun, it's sort of "Grandfathered" in this specific configuration.
