This was on AA recently. The price was right & it's exactly what I was hoping for in my first DW auto…a pre-CZ gun in good shape, .45 ACP, with DW emblems on the grips. It's a Point Man Aussie, not sure just yet what the Aussie part means…maybe it shoots on the left side of the target?
It's been carried & holstered a bit, but there's minimal wear on the bluing.
It came with it's original case, with two of the serial & model number stickers below the obvious custom foam job. Wow…
Well ya know, when something like that sits around my house for longer than an hour or so, it's gonna get the "treatment". hehe
Now if it wasn't snowing half dollar sized snowflakes today, I would have taken this & the 7445 to the 'ol "range" this afternoon. Guess another few days won't kill me. We're supposed to get warm weather next week.

Thanks guys.
Yep Shoot, the red is definitely growing on me. That's the same material I used in the .44 Pac case, and I have enough left to do one more 1911 size case, or maybe a Mini Pac. Hmmm...that would be pretty pathetic even for if I bought another one of these just to use up the rest of my material.

Here's a thread from 1911 Forum

Beautiful pistol, according to Dave Severn (who would know) it was originally developed for an Australian National Shooting Team.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the info, Steve. The southern cross symbol seems to have a troubled history, and it's a bummer that the lefties currently identify with it. Oh well, that's their deal, not mine.
Sounds like I may have overpaid a little, judging from some of those replies. I'm ok with that...or I should say I'm used to that.

Thanks, LB. It definitely needed help...couldn't just leave it that way.
Well, I was finally able to get to the range yesterday & send 50 rounds down the pipe...37 brass came back home with me...darn brass flingers!
Man, I've gotta tell ya, this Pointman is a fun gun! Being my first .45 auto, I sort of expected the recoil to be a little more like my brother's 9mm, so I was slightly surprised at the heavier recoil with this one. That didn't stop me from hitting every single water bottle I aimed at, though. At about 30 feet, 7 out of 7 bottles went splash! However, they only go 'clang' on the empty propane tank.
The victims...
I didn't have to turn a single sight screw, it just hit everything I aimed at! I put a target out at about 60 feet & got 'em all in the rings. For me, that's pretty impressive...one was even a bullseye, but I'm sure that was an accident.
I am impressed with the trigger feel, it's light & smooth. The ergonomics are really nice too, everything is well within reach. In all 50 rounds, it never once had a hiccup, feed issue, or anything. The last auto I owned was an AMT .22 Automag, so the recoil & weight of the slide going through it's motions on this one are much more pronounced than the AMT. I really like this gun, it is a keeper! (sorry about the crappy pic)

Good On Ya, Mate (well, it's a PM Aussie, right?)
If it weren't for the cost of ammo, I could shoot a 1911 all day, it just feels so right your hand.
