Although my collection is all revolvers, I have been pondering the thought of buying a DW 1911 pre CZ. One has come up w/papers box and tool I guess. At first it was to high 1500.00 (I can go for a brand new one for around that) how ever I prefer pre CZ, not knocking , just my preference. From my research I'm seeing pre cz's at about 1100 to 1200, unless I'm mistaken... So my thought and question is If I can get this at 950.00 out the door am I doing good, great, or am I way off here?
Need help.
Thanks.

If I read your post correctly, you are looking at a PM1-S. I own an earlier production PM1-S. The Pointman Major was intended for IDPA competition in the Major category. Mine is absolutely, hands down, the most consistently accurate center fire pistol I have ever owned.
This one is early enough production that it uses the DW revolver interchangeable front sights.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Mine is THE pistol that I knew, the first time I shot it, that it was exactly what I wanted in a 1911 (and it was not my first 1911).

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

What are the differences between a PM 1 & a PM 7 ? Saying both are ss and pre CZ.
In the real world, very little. Actually, when I bought my PM-1, I thought I was buying a PM 7. They are virtually identical in features and construction. The two differences are:
1) PM1 was built to automatically qualify for IDPA Major competition. The PM2 is built for IDPA Minor competition, I'm pretty sure the difference has to do with the capability of the cartridge used (bullet weight and fps)
2) There are a bunch of PM7's. Not many PM1 or 2's, either stainless or blue

I think $950 is what I paid for my Patriot about 2 years ago.
To the paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers:
if you find one...what's your plan?
Yes. Here is the photo so I know I am on the same page as you...To me it does look like yours. On the bolt this one is stamped Match JV, don't know If that means anything??
Thank you all for your help and advice.

Funny thing here, I was looking at a Pointman and had emailed PSMFG2 to see if he thought
the price was right. At the same time almost, He's looking at another one, almost the same gun !!
He didn't get back{He thought I was the GS lol} and then He asked about it on here. I said ck PM and email.
And then later called him and talked about both 45's. Well long story short I won mine.
I dropped a couple hints, and swayed from my beloved revolvers. But this was next, before
the SM popped up and said No regrets there, but got my DW .45 PM 7 !!!! DW # 5 Pre CZ
And made enough today on a Explorer tune up when 3 plug tips broke off in head $$ CHING
Now no more guns .... well ... yea , no more guns ...

Well, my PointMan .45 PM1 fell through. Apparently there was a miscommunication in e-mails, partly my own fault. Anyways after this happened I decided to go after Scorpios FI he had listed and I was prepared to "make it happen", however since I had to deal with the 15 min rule a few times I began to scan GB in between. Found a couple of pre CZ 1911's that had caught my eye, one of them is a patriot. So I decided to back out of Scorpios auction (Sorry Scorpio) and focus on one of these 1911's due to the fact I don't have one in my collection. So, thank you to all who helped, I appreciate it. I'm sure I'll be asking for more advise as I get closer to the others.
Thanks,
Kenn
