Saw a wtb ad for a 10mm, and the seller mentioned he had this. The original poster backed out, and I got it. Comes with six mags, which will be useful with my Razorback, as well.

Looks to be in great shape. Will join my Razorback Limited 10mm and Colt Custom Combat 10 (#40 of 440 made).

So what is the difference between a target barrel and a match barrel? Match barrel has tighter tolerances?

Match barrels are normally a bit oversized in the locking lug and other critical areas to allow for hand fitting to the frame and slide.  The chambers tend to be "tight" compared with SAMI and bores are more concentric to the chamber. Of course, as with everything else, there are Match barrels which are better than others.  If you're not shooting NRA bulls eye it's probably not a big difference to the average shooter.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

We have 2 Kimber custom shop guns with "match" barrels.

We also have 2 DW's with match barrels.

There's no comparison.  The DW's are so much more accurate than the Kimber's that it really amazes us.

So, not all "match" barrels are equal.

Picked up the  pointman 10b from the FFL today . Very smooth slide, yet suprisingly light spring. Perhaps the owner was shooting reduced loads?  The slide is much stiffer on my razorback limited edition 10mm. I would have thought they would have the same spring size.

I may swap springs between the guns and see if my regular loads work ok. If they do, I will know it is a light spring. I don't want to crack a slide or frame shooting a normal load in a gun with a lighter spring tension.

I went on completed auctions in Gunbroker and could not find a single pointman 10b 10mm selling in the past 90 days. Pretty rare, I guess.

Very complete, spent cartridge (4/17/03 collection date), all paperwork. The plastic bag with all the labels has everything matching and correct, except the sticker says 45acp! The gun is all 10mm. marked as such on barrel, mags are 10mm, . Must be a label error.

I really like my PM7-10. It also has a lighter spring than my Gold Cup 10mm.
