As soon as my dealer was open this morning, I went in to pick up my new Dan Wesson Commander Classic Bobtail that was shipped in from a dealer in Florida.
Beautiful looking piece in my opinion.
It feels better in my hand then any other 1911 I have ever held, and I have held and fired quite a few in my 58 years. Carried a cheaper model for a while, but did not care for how cheap it felt and gave it back to the dealer. Since then, I have been carrying the 38's and 9mm. I had someone come into the gun shop with his bobtail and let me hold it. It was all of about a minute before getting weak in the knees and just knew it was the one I had to have.
Very unfortunate that I had to pay what I did for this thing, but still just had to have it.
This DW CBOB is a 2010 model. One of 200 made for this year. Don't ask how I eneded up with it because I really don't know except it is right here with me now.
By the time I got home with the CBOB, it was raining here and I did not get a chance to fire it, so I took it apart and cleaned it up and got it ready for tomorrow. I am sure it will fire as sweet as it looks.
I took a few pics of it, but don't know how to post them on here.

Very nice CBOB! Not sure if you have seen Sarge's Grips or not but he makes some fine grips for the CBOB. Here is a picture of my CBOB with a set of Sarge's Rosewood grips.

I have an IWB holster already ordered as well as a magazine pouch to match it. That will take a few weeks yet.
I tried to get my PD ammo for the Bobtail today, but my dealer was all out. He has a hard time keeping it on the shelf. I had him hold a couple boxes for me the next time the order is filled. I have an Ed Brown Tactical Ambi s/s safety orderd. that should be in next week and it will be installed by my gun smith.
I am so ready to start concealed carry with this piece.
