I just purchased a DW Pointman in 10mm. I had decided to go over $1000, which is "investment" area to me. I thought about the Colt Delta versus the Razorback RZ-10. Decided the Colt was a better "investment" even though it wasn't as nice, but on close inspection all the ones I liked were closer to $2000... an area I wasn't going to visit. Not only that, but all these Colts were NIB and 15yo. What fun is that? I wanted a shooter, not a safe queen!
No used Razorbacks anywhere, and when there were, they were for as much as a used one. So I finally decided upon a new Razorback and contacted a big national DW dealer last December. Got on their list and was told to call back in late Feb to mid-March. Waiting. Then the fire. More waiting. I've been corresponding with the dealer monthly since April. No guns. No news of guns. The DW web site has no news, the forums have no news, the dealer had no news. What's a guy supposed to do?
Then this Pointman shows up in 10mm. I didn't know they ever made such a beast. Target sights and pretty well tricked out compared to the RZ. Extra mags, original box. How could I resist? Mailed the MOs off this AM.
We'll see!!

A little off topic (duh, it's Me) I shot a 10 mm for the first time the other day.
Admittedly, it was in a Glock (now making the sign of the Cross )
I think 10mm in a real gun, like a 1911, would be a lot of fun.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome to the club! A .40 on steroids....
Well, everyone here already knows that I'm only buying the 10mm because it allows me to use the same dies and bullets as the 40.
Wow, were you able to make that logic loop fly with the wife????

I can't put this gun down long enough to take photos. Blew through all the 150gr test rounds I had loaded earlier in the week before arrival. Shot very nicely, but 150gr is not a good test bullet. (That's all the 40/10 bullets I could find during the recent embargo.)
Now I'm busy eye-balling the powders and other bullets I have in stock figuring out how to load some more. Can't figure out how to load ammo and hold this gun at the same time. Problems, problems.
More later.

Rained all day here starting about 12. Dashed outside during a brief lull to take these of the (new to me) PM10...
This gun is incredibly tight. No indication of wear, other than it runs nicely. Apparently I'm the 3rd owner, but it came with everything as if new, the manuals, sample fired case, case, and 5 mags. Just the slightest hint of holster wear on the tips of the rear sight. Serial is MJ4xxx.

Very nice looking gun! I have a twin to that, also in 10mm. Been a 10mm fan for years, since I bought one of the first Colt Gold Cups to come out in that caliber. My DW is the third 10mm auto I own, plus a 10" Contender and a 14" 10mm Magnum G-2. The Pointman is a lot of fun! Steve should get one.

Gee, Thanks Dean! I actually shot 10mm for the first time a couple of weeks ago, in a Glock (yes, my son has dabbled briefly on the Dark Side).
In the same way that .44 Magnum was more than I want or need, 10mm is a little over the top for me.
If someone wanted to GIVE me a 10mm 1911, that is a whole different story, however.

You are right, the 10mm can be downloaded, for my needs I have a lot of latitude in loading in .45 ACP.
I have a Lightweight Commander that will become the carry gun (CT mag size limitations have knocked out the Hi Cap 9mm) that cries out for a fast, light hollowpoint load. The PM-1S will easily handle stout loads with a heavier bullet if needed.
The S&W M-59 will always be the House Gun
If I ever get another 1911, I want it in .38 Super, which has sort of become my "Dream Gun".

Steve, sometimes you and I really think alike
I have had the honor and pleasure of shooting another DWF member's 1911 in .38 Super, and I love that pistol. It is surely my dream gun

I don't harbor the dream of getting a DW .38 Super, they are made out of "unobtanium".
Taurus made the PT1911 in .38 super for a while, I'd jump on one at a good price.
RIA also makes .38 Super, I think that is my best bet. I'm learning a lot about 1911's working on my Springer (my DW remains factory unmolested, and likely always will), and I could see getting an RIA to play with.
I've always perceived .38 Super to be the shooter/reloader's dream gun.
