I've seen the PT-C 10mm without a bobtailed frame and also a PT-C 10mm with a bobtailed frame. I'm assuming the Classic CBOB is the CZ version of the PT-C 10mm bobtail. The first one I owned was a Classic in 10mm. I sent it back to DW several times and it just would not really run reliably. Looking back, I probably didn't break it in long enough.
At the time I was also not as much a DW fan as I am now. Had I been, I would have kept it and worked it until it was solid. Years later, I bought another one. This time, this one was slightly used and had been worked over for reliability by Dave Savern and it has been great.
The earlier CBOB had larger more agressive checkering on the front strap. The checkering was more like this. The particular one in the photo though is a CZ gun. I've seen some with the "Classic" name but with a DW logo in front of it.
So, I'm wondering when and how the changes took place and what the differences may be between the PT-C bobtail and the Classic bobtail.

So, was there no Patriot bobtail, only the Patriot Commander? Was the CBOB, the Classic, bought out after the CZ purchase? I believe I've seen some Classics with the DW logo preceding the "Classic" name. Just curious.

I cannot definitively answer your question. The very best source of DW 1911 info is

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
