I never was much of a 1911 guy and always been a revolver Dan collector but I got curious about the early Servia guns. If I was going to collect some 1911's it would be pre-CZ stuff. As I looked at the 2002 brochure I was looking at the early 1911's and looks like they are all pointmans? Seems as their markings are a bit different compared to the CZ guns also. did they come in different boxes? I assume the plastic black.blue CZ cases did not start until 2005? so these early Serva guns are their very few out there? Are the early Servia 1911's guns a collectible market all their own? If you were to go after them which Pointman guns would be the most rare and collectible? Thanks if you have any pics of early guns and their boxes I would be interested in them. Thanks 1911 guys and gals!

That's the early case most of the Serva era guns came in.  Some of the early guns were made for minor power factor.  They came in target and match grade barrels.  Some have external extractors.

All mine are match.  Fit and finish is good, accuracy is great.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

Most were Berry's black pistol boxes until a little after CZ acquisition. There weren't nearly as many made as compared to post CZ.
Around 4000 total units for Bob's DW tenure. There were Patriot's, Razorbacks, Guardians,Panthers, Dave Pruitt Pointman (very neat gun)
and low # models like the Stakeout made for/with Jim Cirillo from the NYPD. There was even a HiCap version made with a Para P14 frame

$1500 is high for a PM2

$1100 is more inline.   $1300 if minty

My 2003 PM-S is the best 1911 I've ever owned.

I've got Ed Brown's, Les Baer's and Kimber's, but I truly believe that I enjoy my stainless PM-7 the most.

I've bought them for a grand or less, these were the entry level pistols.

So is there a collector market for the pre-CZ guns? I would think there would be but seems like a lot of you want the newer CZ guns due to the advancements made in the CZ guns. BoyI do like the look of the early guns. So your saying they made other guns beside the Pointman in the pre-CZ years? That would have to be 2003-2005 if correct. I wonder what the rarest 1911 is from the pre-CZ 1911 era? I saw a Dave Pruitt Signature Series that must be rare! I have not seen any other brochures from 2003 to 2005 so I'm not sure what was available then. I think the Guardian Duce with it's two tone looks really good!IMG_6812.JPGImage Enlarger

I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

I think the first one I want is still the 2018 50th Anniversary gun if I can find one for the right price. I really don't want to go over $2500 for one. THere is one on guns.com they want $3200. It's one of the best looking guns I've ever seen! The finish is so nice! I keep making offers on it no takers yet! I forgot I have a Dan Wesson Pointman but it's a Mitchell Mauser! New in the box! I like these re-branded guns. That's a whole other story but great reading about the difference of the 1995 Mitchell Arms 1911 which was not a Dan Wesson and a piece of junk vs the Mitchell Mauser which is 100% a Bob Serva Pointman!Screenshot-2025-01-20-5.52.26-PM.pngImage Enlarger

Myself no way I would shoot it if I buy it in new condition. That's just me but that's a collector gun. I think less than 1000 made. Those guns should never be shot! I doubt the price would drop too much if it still looks new but I would not!

They are beautiful in hand!!!

$3200 is what they were new and about going rate at the time. So not so bad now being they were limited to 300 and are no longer available.

Yea I did not realise they were that much when sold. I was going off Scout who picked up one for a great price so i'm trying to at least get one for below $2800 The bluing and polish look fantastic. So only 300 made that's also much less than I thought! The things I really like are the DW logo on the back and the 50th logo on the front! Man they look good I wish they had put those on the side of the gun also!Screenshot-2025-01-20-7.32.14-PM.png

I've got a Dave Pruit, a Pointman Aussie, a PMHC, double stack 45, PTEB, amongst others.  Are they collectable? I don't know.  I got them reasonably and they sure are fun to shoot.  They shoot every bit as well as my CZ era 1911's.
