This is a update on my new Pointman 9. I sent it back to Dan Wesson after it seized during the break in period.

Got my Pointman 9 back work order stated "Honed and Lapped"

I am very happy with it. The only problems were >It took 4 weeks to the day, they did not reply to any of the emails I sent.

I took it home did a super clean up and oil job with MILTEC-1 like the owner manual reads. I did use MILTEC-1 grease on the rails.

Range time 50 rounds Remington 124gr then took home super clean up and oil job with MILTEC-1 and MILTEC-1 grease on the rails.

Did the same 5 more times same ammo same cleaning and oiling procedure total 300 rounds.

The gun ran flawless and I love it. After 100 rounds every round was in the 8 ring or better. At one point the Range Master was standing behind me and I could not tell were my rounds were hitting on target, He told me they followed the same hole. The only complaint I have is that you can only load 7 rounds in the magazine that came with the gun. Now I will start using my new Wilson Combat magazines.

Super happy with the Dan Wesson Pointman 9 occasion

Good to hear. Possibly the most common problem I ever hear of with new manufacture DW 1911's is seizing. My very unkowledgeable opinion is that maybe DW builds them pretty tight in their quest to have a top quality "Factory Custom".

I have never heard of them not standing fully behind their 1911's. It's possible that the communication issues were related to them getting back up to speed after the fire.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Very good thanks for the update and range report. I do think 4 weeks is a realistic time, that kind of work is probably handled by a very few craftsmen who I bet have a serious workload these days. The emails they should have followed up on though.
