This was taken at 7:45 this morn, I measured 15 inches. the other was around 10:30 last night. I know you guys up North and off East get lots more, but we just don't get snow like this very often, any more. When I was young I remember we would get 3-4 feet of snow all thru the winters. That didn't happen after 77' maybe once every 4-5 yrs.

Ese, we're getting it here today, I have 8" now and the forecast predicts about 6 more hours of snow. We are more used to it here in PA but it has been a long cold winter and I think tolerance is wearing thin! At least it is not as cold, in Feb we had below zero temp a couple times which is low even for us.
Last winter here was....cold. Really cold. And I don't remember how much total snowfall we had but it was...too much.
Someday if I can afford to retire I would like to move south away from the worst of the cold, I guess I will have to look farther down than Kentucky

lonwolf93, they are saying we will set a record for March here tonight, like -1 or -2 without the windchill. I don't it so bad, I mean I like having a good winter cause it helps the ground to rest you know. I think it might even kill a few bugs.. who knows. What I do know, I AM TOO OLD FOR THIS S*~T...lol We might have to pack up and go on down there by Brucertx or rwsem, heck I think Ole Dog is even further south, not sure... It is like 17* here today. just a little to nippy for me nowadays..hehe

This morning the weather man said we'd get a trace to 3 inches in my area, BS! I just ran the blower for the second time today, you couldn't even tell where I'd been the first pass at 8 this AM. I'd say we have around a foot as of 3:45. The only reason for weather men is to make stock brokers look like they can predict the future.

Typical crazy N TX weather. Yesterday rain. Last night got down into the teens. Rain turns to sleet then snow. 7 this morning 5" of snow and ice on my front steps. 30 minute drive to work takes 2 hours (the natives really are snow and ice driving impaired and they scare the bejezus out of me). 5 pm leave the office, sunny not a cloud in the sky 50 degrees. Because so many folks stayed home, normal 30 minute drive home take 20 minutes.

We're not bad here in southern Idaho, lows in the mid-high 20's and highs in the low 50's (usually above freezing by 8am). But no moisture, we're going to suffer this summer (irrigation and fires) unless the mountains get snow. They're at less than 50% of normal snow-pack right now.

Utah...well, the northern end...has had a very mild winter this year. In fact, it's been almost perfect for me, it's what I have been wishing for all my adult life! Rain in the valley, with most of the white crap landing in the mountains. I have only had to shovel about 5 times so far, all winter...Sweet!
We got pummeled pretty good on Monday, but by the next day, it all melted away...which is my favorite thing about snow...watching it MELT & go away!

I am jealous of you guys, its been years since I have seen a decent snow storm, just yesterday I was stuck playing golf while you guys could be making snowmen. Today the temperature has dropped though, 61 degrees right now and the cold brought some rain with it.
I'm taking the high road here, and avoiding the comment that starts with "F" and ends in "U" , and I'm giving myself a warning.
Enjoy the great weather, if Global Warming is real, your great, great, great ... grand kids will be digging out of a glacier along with the rest of us
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I'll just second your comments Steve!
I punched out at work at 6 this morning. 4 degrees F. Driver's door of the Cherokee was frozen shut. Had to crawl in the passenger door and over the console. Windshield was all frosted up, thought I could scrape it by hanging out the window, but the window was frozen too and wouldn't go down. Crawled back out the passenger door, scraped the windshield, and realized most of the frost was on the INSIDE...why?
The one shining light is that my neighbor next door bought a beautiful new Cub Cadet snowblower last fall, and after I left for work the previous evening his rather industrious 23 year old son did a great job on what I didn't have shoveled in my driveway. Good people there.

For the past several years I have always run the snow blower over the sidewalks for the neighbors on both sides, which added about 200% to the sidewalks that I MUST clear. Both neighbors have started doing the same, got snow blowers and started keeping up on our part of the block

A couple of days ago it was reported that Florida was the only State out of 50 with no snow. Personally, I haven't seen snow since 1971 except for a skiing vacation in 1982. But it does get cold occasionally in my neck of the woods. 20 degrees in my part of Fl. Feels like 5 degrees up north. If you want balmy than talk to Snake-eye in Ft. Myers. Heck, I don't think he knows what snow is. Aw, just kidding Snake-eye. BTW, we have no income tax, low sales tax and no crazy gun laws. Our biggest problem is northern liberals coming down here and voting twice.
