Thanks Stinger, got my VZ grips today, NICE upgrade. 
Smooth polished American Walnut. I think the dark wood looks good w/SS, got my C Mc 8rd mag too, I know what the butt plates are for, but don't like the look. Would y'all leave them off or not ??

You are very welcome. I've got beautiful vintage pre-ban Ivory and lots of exotic hardwood slabs for presentation, but for everyday shooting, all my 1911's wear VZ !
The rubber buttplate extensions are for cushioning the blow when dropping them on the ground during comps, so you don't damage the magazine. I don't use them for carry or at the range.

Here's my Les Baer stainless longslide ... I know the scratches aren't for everybody, but I like a little factory hand-laid artwork of a master engraver every now and then
I bought these 'VZ Grips' Slant Zebra G10's for shooting, thinking I will preserve the Ivories in their pristine glory for display.

Here on my custom factory engraved Ed Brown Classic Custom, is the stock magazine bumper .. yes, it came off almost immediately. I think they're ugly !

I like the look of ivory esp.on blue.
But being a mechanic, me and white don't get along well. I'm lucky to wear a white shirt twice, with out working, before I screw it up !!
