This gun has graced this forum before... but now shes mine Pine's Pointman 7
Sadly, the grip here is cracked from bottom to nearly the top. Not even safe enough to shoot with. Some temp rubber ones are on the way.
The "shiney spots are indeed shiney where the otherwise matt finish has been marred. It doesn't bother me much. It is a used gun, and perfectly within reason. I did not want a pristine gun, as I intend to learn to shoot this machine.
The last three are new.
In additition my FFL gave me 14 rounds to start me on my way with the new caliber.
Galco holster.
Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box
in that order.
4 Monson Model 15's
1 Palmer FB 15
1 Rossi 357 Model 92 (lever)
1 CZ 75B

For me, the 1911 Government Model is the perfect handgun. It fits, points, and balances exactly right. If you really want to drive yourself crazy, get the Brownells 1911 Catalog, which is published annually. The range of modifications, options, and just cool stuff is mind boggling.
Congrats!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Very nice Pointman. I like shooters rather than safe queens. Steve is right, if you want to go crazy, get that 1911 catalog. I have a Colt 1911 which I can't seem to find time to pickup from the FFL, but have been looking at the Brwnells 1911 catalog. I think I'm crazy, the catalog is all wet from drool.
Happyness is a Hot DW and a pile of used brass!!! Rich
