I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

The other PM-1 a B model. I've seen two PM-1S models and one of those was in a gun shop two years ago. Friend I was with looked it over and said the it was too high, but don't remember the price. I didn't know about the gun and the quality high end parts and hand fitting until recently. To bad no way to find out numbers made other then maybe by the serial number. Mine is #450, but is it of 500 or 1000, or more. I suspect 500 number, but is both S & B models or just the blued guns? Guess we will never really know.

Another difference I think I have noticed with your early model is the two SS guns I've seen had dehorned slide at front and rear, as does my 1B. Just wish my Colt DE's were done the same way.

Actually, the interchangeable front is kind of a PITA on the 1911. If the setscrew is not Lock-Tited into place, the sight works loose within 50 rounds. The cycling of the slide (which, of course, does not happen on a revolver) loosens the setscrew.

Funny you mention the front sight, I just noticed today it had a set scew or pin in the thing.
