Here are a few things I found interesting or useful to know:
1) At this time barrel and shroud choices now included the 10″, 12″ and 15″ variations along with the standard 2.5″, 4″, 6″ and 8″
2) The padding in the Pistol Pac cases where now being lined.
3) Four shrould types were noted: Standard (S), Vented (V), Heavy (H) and Vented Heavy (VH).
4) The Model 44 was expected to start shipping in March or April of 1980.
5) Dan Wesson passed away on November 24th 1978. A sad day for Dan Wesson Arm's! Makes you wonder were the company would be today had he not pasted away at the time. There is also some very cool information in the article about his time at S&W.
6) Between 1973 and 1979 36 modifications were made to revolvers to improve function and aesthetics.

While the main body of the article pretty much covered things that were said in earlier articles, the tribute to Dan I felt was very nice. The author is right, he has left us all a good legacy.
I agree that it would be interesting to guess on the "what if", if DW had lived longer, even if only five more years.
Thanks for posting that, Jody.
Oh & I want a 15" barrel to shoot...just to say I did.
