Dan Wesson Special Offer!
For Permanent Range Fund
To All IHMSA Members:
As a special courtesy offer from Dan Wesson with all proceeds above cost going into our permanent range fund, we offer you a choice of either a Blue Dan Wesson .44V-10 or a .44 VH-8 for $289.50 sent prepaid and insured.
The special part of Dan Wesson's offer is that YOUR IHMSA MEMBER NUMBER will be stamped on your gun at the factory as the official serial number.
THAT'S RIGHT! If, for example, you are IHMSA member 22431, your Dan Wesson .44 V-10 or .44 VH-8 (your choice) will come from the factory with its official serial number reading IHMSA 22431.
All you have to do is send us a good faith deposit of $50.00, either by mail or your credit card will be accepted if you want to call in (208-544-0880) along with your IHMSA number.
This offer is open until April 15, 1983 at which time all numbers will be sent to Dan Wesson. Your gun will be assembled and stamped with your IHMSA member number and sent to us with a month. In turn we will forward your gun to you on receipt of the balance. You will have delivery in the month of May, 1983.
Needless to say, we are highly pleased with Dan Wesson's offer. Not only will it give a big boost to our permanent range project, but it will provide you with a personalized gun at a fair price which you can always be proud of; and one that can be used as an everyday workhorse for silhouette competition as well as being a long term family heirloom and positive proof of your making a special contribution to IHMSA's first permanent range.
Call Headquarters today and place your order. IHMSA, Inc., Box 1609, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83401. 208-524-0880.
Does anyone have one of these specially marked .44 Magnums or seen one? I know they did that later to some of the SuperMags.

This addition to the ad came in the next issue, April 1983.
SPECIAL NOTE: Because of the enthusiastic response we are extending this special offer to May 30, 1983 to give all members additional time to take advantage of it. Also, due to a number of requests, Dan Wesson has graciously agreed to include their stainless steel counterpart models in this special offer as of April 1.
You may order either model in stainless steel at $319.50, either the 744VH-8 stainless or the 744V-10 stainless. All other provisions of this special offer remain in effect until May 30, 1983. All stainless models will have an "S" at the end of the member serial number to designate stainless.
Call Headquarters today and place your order, or send your order in by mail with your $50 deposit.

It seems I have seen IHMSA guns on GB, but since I had no idea that the number following the IHMSA would be not just some sereialized number BUT a shooters number I would not have made a note of that. I would assume then that ANY such gun in that caliber and marked thus was a part of that group.
Now thats pretty dern neat.
Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box
in that order.

The only one I've clued into so far, has been this one that recently sold on Gun Broker. Unfortunately, the pics don't offer a clear shot of the s/n rollmarks, although I can make out "IHMSA" in this shot...
So we'll have to assume that it simply has "IHMSA 40" as the seller stated.
Thanks once again Dean, for some excellent DW info.
