I have scanned an article by Skeeter Skelton titled "A Striking New Series of Stainless Dan Wesson's"
I know we have several Stainless Junkies on here so I skipped a few articles to get this one out to you. I will go back and scan the rest in chronological order.
This article provides some new information for us DW Fans.
1) Based on the article Dan resigned from S&W in 1966 as Bangor Punta Corp acquired S&W. From what I have read prior to Bangor Punta acquiring S&W Dan attempted to organize a group to purchase S&W from the family but in the end was unable to make this happen. Also based on information from Seth Wesson Jr. Dan's grandson he was fired for insubordination.
2) In 1968 he formed Dan Wesson Arms.
3) Dan first revealed his new revolver at the 1969 NSGA Show in Houston, TX. (So the first folks to the the DW revolver in public was Texans! I'm sure some of our members here will enjoy that fact!)
4) The first DW revolver shipped on August 13, 1970.
5) The stainless 715 was introduced in 1982 (prior to October) and they were hoping to have the 714 introduced by October 1982.
6) Based on the article they had hoped to start shipping limited quantities of the following new models:
Model 41
Model 741
Model 744
Model 722
So now we at least know a general time frame that these models were introduced!

"Stainless Junkies" seems harsh, we shouldn't be judged because we cannot control our compulsion. Perhaps we should be CRA's (Corrosion Resistant Aficionados)

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
