Just downloaded the 2013 Annual Firearms Manufacturing and Export Report.  The production numbers for Dan Wesson are listed below:

1911s

Caliber Quantity
9MM 656
45ACP / 10MM 3068
Total 3724

Revolvers

Caliber Quantity
357 Magnum 3
44 Magnum 1
Total 4

I'll be curious to see what the 2014 report will show!

1- 44 Magnum?  Since when were those available in 2013?  I'd better call Supermagfan, if anybody could get Keith to make a custom gun its our Supermagfan smile

Keith and I exchanged a couple of emails back at the beginning of the year.  I ask if they would be offering any revolvers out of their custom shop this year and he's reply was "no".  I have been faithfully asking each December or January since 2008 and the answer is always the same.

Since SMF might have the pull to make it happen!

Interesting, Jody. I emailed Keith L back in November, about the possibility of getting a new 715 done with some custom touches. At that time he said that their plate was full just working towards getting a run of the new 715s ready to release sometime this year. In those emails he did state that extra barrel assemblies were on the docket for the new 715s.

I am hoping the first quality (not blems) 715s will be available soon.

That one 44 could well be a prototype or experimental, which could mean that at least someone there is toying with the idea of a production run. We can hope!

Now I really am curious to see the 2014 numbers.

That one and only 744 struck me as a "pre-production/what if/just thinking about" kind of thing as well

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I would like to add to my above post that back in November when I emailed Keith about the possibility of a custom shop 715, he responded the very next day and although he would not do a custom 715 he did inquire about what thoughts I had. Now I am a complete nobody in the gun world and to have a gentleman of his importance at the Norwich factory not only quickly respond to my questions but also listen to my thoughts on the subject, well it was very flattering.

Very cool Brian!  I know Keith ran a poll on the 1911 forum asking for input from owners for ideas on the new Dan 1911's.  The product of that is the new Valkyrie and Silverback.   Keith took a page from Dan Wesson himself in listening to what his customers wanted and then giving it to them.  Good business tactic, you know they'll sell because your customers asked for it. Good PR too.

I hope CZ/DW is listening to its die hard wheelgun shooters and begins to roll out some new models for us to collect, I mean shoot.
