I put together one that covered most of them 8 or 9 years ago, but those pics have been lost due to the photo host site I was using having gone out of business. I could put together another one soon. Are you mainly looking for the early Porkchop guns?

Oh..I think the Pork Chops May be covered...Maybe..But, probably Not..I am most interested in the Early 15-2's but, if we could see the Pork Chops that would probably tie it together better.. after Palmer...IDK..I do Not believe the Front sights changed Much...But...Been Wrong plenty of Times!!

Thank You

BTW, there is a Sticky...but..No Front sights.. I probably should have put this There???

Maybe if you have some pics...we can lobby to have this or That Moved...or put there!

15-2s debuted in late 1974 at serial number 50,000 or so. Until 75,000 the front sights were not interchangable. They are black with no colored plastic insert. Same shape as later sights but just black and pinned. Hope that helps.

Yes, there are originally red, yellow and white inserts in the interchangable front sights. They are held in place by an Allen screw in the muzzle, no roll pin. The Wesson sons later offered green, blue and fluorescent inserts in front sights. I see their ads on eBay. The partridge front sights were offered by the factory but later EWK offered them as well. I think the only place to get a partridge sight now would be GunBroker.com or eBay,but I don't know for sure.

Very Good Info, Stinger and Ole Dog...appreciate the insight.. Mostly Curiosity on my Part..but, hopefully useful to know what is DW offering, and what came from the Aftermarket.. Now betting there were Sighting differences that I cannot fathom, right from DW.

BTW on the "roll pin". I did Not find a roll pin in my 14-2 Shroud..it was a Solid Pin, and fairly well stuck in place for permanence!!

I will need to search out a Model 15 shroud with a Pin..Never even seen Pictures that I recall..Makes me glad I have the allen screw on my 6" BA tho!!

Any More Input is more than welcome...Thank You

I will probably move on to Early Target Grips next...as there seems to be more than 2 Shapes/Sizes

Lots more. There's smooth, checkered, medallion, no medallion, finger grip, no finger grip and combinations of those. Target style, combat, undercover, Sacramento just to name a few.

Yes...I guess I should have specified the original Checkered, with medallion. Tho they appear at first glance Identical...in person...they are certainly Not!!

Plastic' Powerwood ' grips were offered first with porkchop guns. They were still offered in 1974 when the dash 2s were released. The earliest target grip is the handle looking Michigan grip. It looked awkward but it was very comfortable. Early conventional shaped targets were either smooth, checkered diamond and later had the conventional checkered patch.  DWF Medallions debuted probably in 1976. At first the targets had wide bases to force your hand higher for control. By 78 they started being slimmer and slimmer. In 79 the DW. medallion appeared. In the eighties the grips became polished very smooth, except for the checkering. Early zebras were smooth, later they were smooth and checkered.Original shaped grips also include the Sacremento finger groove, the Magna style grip, a smaller flat base service grip and the round bottom Undercover grip. The last two use the shorter grip screws. Later, combat finger groove grips appeared.

Large frame guns have smooth targets with DW medallions and several different shaped finger groove grips.

I believe I have My 15-2 pegged as a 1977. The Grips were Highly Modified when I got it. I since obtained a Grip identical to the one my High Standard Sentinal (357 Pork Chop) came with, except with DW script vs HS, which I believe should have been a DWA ..also on hand are an Old Pachmayr, (fits the Pork Chop much Better than the 15-2), An Undercover, which had a Very hard Life..(Beatup to point I will be Modifying). and what DW called "traditional", but most call them Service Grips..in great shape but a Tyler T adapter added..(quite a Trick). Lots of others that have No Interest for me , except maybe what is called a Michigan Grip...Just Because I live here!!

Back to front sights..Is the Patridge front an Aftermarket??

Front sights were not interchangable on porkchops or the early 15-2s. They became reachable around serial number 75,000. That would be late 1975 or early 2976. There was no EWK until DW was owned by CZ I think. Before 2005. I suspect most Partridge sights are factory.

Yes ... Info that I desired.. I am Confident, based on the person I obtained this 1977 15-2, from, that it was Unmolested..and wears a 6" BA with Patridge front..

It Now has the Option of the 2-1/2 BA that I got from a 14-2, and Changed Front Sight..Not what ya call a User Friendly Operation!!

And, as an Aside..The HS Sentinal-III that I have does indeed mount the front sight like the 14-2 BA (Pinned).. Not user Interchangeable. and research and Handling show, that I can Find No Difference in the HS and the Pork Chop Dan,..except the Markings!!

I simply needed to clear the air for my (foggy) brain.. about "Factory Original" front sights..Don't get me started on Color inserts!!!!        Thank You for All Remarks..Appreciated
