All, I found a GUN magazine from June 1969 with very first review of the Dan Wesson revolvers. They were very impressed with quality, design, accuracy, and trigger....of course !!!! But they also talk about the difference in balance between the steel shrouds and the aluminum shrouds ? Has anyone ever seen or have one? this is a new one to me !

Given how early this was in the DW history, prior to any known production guns, I think the author may be comparing the DW to other period revolvers with aluminum shrouds. Note the reference to "finger splitting cylinder lock moved forward ..."
If there are additional pages to be read on this I could not see them. Clear copies of the entire article would be a great addition to our archives
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Steve,
This is a three page article as well as the cover photos. I am computer challenged but would be happy to email the entire four pages if someone wants to pm with an email address that is good at posting.
The author, like you, felt the 4in steel shroud had the best "hang" and that naturally the aluminum shroud would be different.

I have that magazine, too. I scanned the article shortly before my pic host site crashed, and killed my scans. If you need, I can re-scan & post them here when I get back home Monday.
I think I have these pages incoming to add to the Archive
