From the Jan-Feb 1985 issue of The Silhouette. Apparently a short production run since you don't find them very often....OR, all of it was shot up in IHMSA competition and few boxes remain. Fox reports...you decide.
NEW .357 SUPER MAG LOAD FROM REMINGTON
For 1985, Remington will introduce a new 180-grain, semi-jacketed hollow point bullet for it's high-performance 357 Remington Maximum round. This new loading is designed particularly to meet the needs of handgun metallic silhouette competitors who have expressed a preference for the increased momentum factor of a heavier bullet on longer range targets. It also will meet with the approval of many handgun hunters who prefer the heavier bullet for big game handgun hunting situations.
The ballistics of the new 357 Remington Maximum 180-grain SJHP are similar of the 44 Remington Magnum 180-grain loading but with a lower recoil factor.
Both the 38 Special 125-grain SJSP and 357 Remington Maximum 180-grain SJHP cartridges will be available in January 1985.
