I had the opportunity and honor of meeting Mr. Robert Serva, former owner/president/operator of Dan Wesson Firearms through correspondence. I had found out about the Dan Wesson purchase thru gun magazine publications in or around 1999 and had wrote the new owner to congratulate him on his purchase. He wrote back, thanking me, and inquired about 'any' Dan Wesson I owned/shot/used. Well, I 'loaded-up-the-boat' with a letter expounding all my passion concerning my Model 11. The accuracy factor/anything and everything that I liked about Dan Wesson's first gun. I even shared with him the fact that I used my Model 11 as an "official" duty sidearm, including photos of me in uniform at the range shooting this same Model 11. I found Mr. Serva to be a keen student of firearms history and it was during this time he (Serva) told me about his intentions to continue the Model 15-2/715 manufacture but to start a 1911 Pistol production. I didn't think too much of the latter (1911) as there were/still are/ several companies producing 1911's. My own thoughts were/still are that revolvers made the Dan Wesson a legend, not pistols. I did not tell Mr. Serva that. The rest is history now, and it was during this same period that he (Serva) personally, would give my Model 11 a trigger-job. To this day, I still profit from that trigger-job he did. He not only was the owner, but a very skilled gunsmith to boot. The owner of the company worked on my Dan Wesson and the paperwork (invoice) I still retain, supports this.
Is this paperwork something that my friends here would find beneficial to Dan Wesson history, including the 5-photos Mr. Serva sent me of the new facility in Norwich. It was interesting to me that the owner, also was a skilled gunsmith, who did this previously mentioned work to my six-gun. I've got this DW memorabilia and would be happy to share with any of the DW Forum members, if found worthy. This was just some small DW history with my Model 11, serial number 1131, playing a bit part with a former owner.

Awesome, David Abney, I think your sharing photo copies and scans of these is a fantastic idea. I am sure each of us on the forum would be very pleased at your inclination to share this history and I have to tell you, I love reading your stories and thank you for sharing.
