Bob Serva bought the company and moved it to Norwich in 1996. They shipped the first Norwich revolver in 1997 a 7445 supermag. Reading in the book I have the first issues that did not start being made until 2000 and that's the year they added the first 1911 Pointman Bob sold the company to CZ-USA in 2006. Click the pics to see them in larger format! Click twice to see a even larger pic that's easy to read!

You would think the Bob Serva 1911's would go up in value and become collectible though it does not seem the case.
Not entirely so. From what I've seen, the early Pre-CZ 1911 guns have gone up, albeit agonizingly slowly. IIRC, I bought mine for right around $550~ish around 2010. Today, the few that I see pop up are in the $1200 range. Some are in better shape than others, so there's always that factor. From the ones I've seen, mine is probably smack in the middle value wise. I would love to unearth a bunch of history on the early PointMan's (including production numbers), to help set a base value on these guns.
Now & then one of these pop up on GB, but they are still introduced at much lower prices than current new SZ/DW 1911's.

I have been thinking of buying a couple of the pre-2005 1911's but saving my 1911 money and waiting for a 2018 50th Anniversary to come up for sale at a good price. Hoping to pay not more than the $2500 range. I want one New in box w/paperwork so may be a tall task!
You may have to settle for an Heirloom which apparently has been discontinued after years of limited production to 400 units per year

If you do, let me know as I am bidding on two, and would not want to drive up the prices if you enter the ring.

Geez, that site kinda sucks. It starts off by not even letting you in the front door unless you sign up as a member. Fine, so I signed up as a "free" member for now, since I'm a newbie & haven't been to the site before today. As opposed to joining paying $4.99 per month.
Anyway, I click Jertex's link & I am automatically locked out of that page unless I pony up the $4.99! I hate it when websites do that crap. I probably won't be doing much more with that site.

It's my Pointman over on Addicts. PM if you're interested and I can get you the pics and infoBTW it's the best 1911 site on the web. They have that protocol to make it harder for the scammers to get in.
Oh cool! I am interested, however since I recently blew most of my gun funds recently on a wheel gun last month, I'm sure I can't currently jump on it. However, if you choose to post some of your gun, I'm sure I won't be the only one who may appreciate it.
I understand the need for the protocol, we have that here too, albeit in a much more muffled way. My only gripe is that after taking the time to join, then go to my email to click the "confirm you are real" link, which should be enough to prove that I'm not a bot. So by joining, I was able to get into the 1st level of the forum, which is fairly expansive (no biggie), however, it kinda sucks that I can't window shop the for sale threads without tying my CC number to a monthly fee.
Instead, I would rather be offered a reward of "access into the club" which shows more neat stuff that you can't see from the main floor, by paying a monthly fee. But maybe the for sale area IS "the club" area & there isn't much else beyond that? I dunno...
Anyway, the Admin of Addicts has the right to run his site as he see's fit. It's merely my lesser right to grump about it from across the fence.
