Been looking over several Super Mags and finally made a move on this one. I am really happy with the condition and all the paper work.  Can't wait to get out to the range and let this fine firearm roar. The Plastic Barrel tool is cracked and so I could not get the barrel off with the tool that came in the box but I had other Large Frame EWK removal tools so eventually I did get the barrel off for a good cleaning.  The 2nd barrel was still in the original "rust free" wrapping paper and the wrapping paper had a Feb. 1982 Date, but the letter is Dated April 1, 1983.  This thing has been fired but it looks like it was fired very little and has been in storage for a long time.  After the barrel cleanings, I took a look at the internals and all is well, super clean inside, so reassemble and ready for range fun.  I will eventually get some foam rubber and some cloth and make a "Samsonite Jerry Rigged Pistol Case" out of the small brief case in the photo, it should fit.

As soon as I send some ammo down-range I will report on the Range Report section, hopefully with some chrono data.   IMG_1056.JPGImage Enlarger

Should be able to get out to the range tomorrow as it is a priority.  Can't Wait.  So far, I only have Jamison Maximum 158 Grain Ammo to shoot through it.  Any of you guys ever shoot Jamison Ammo?  The box says 1800+ fps.  I will test with the Chrono. I ordered some Hornady 180 gr XTP for the re-loads.

Beautiful gun.

This is the foam you need for customizing your carry case:

http://www.fastcap.com/estore/pc/Kaizen-Foam-p13435.htm

I tried pick & pluck foam and even made a foam cutting table, but nothing is as easy & cheap as this Kaizen Foam to produce a great result. They even have great video instructions.

Fastcap.com also has a bunch of other nifty stuff for sale.

I agree, nifty stuff.  Perfect foam for making pistol cases for sure! Thanks.

very nice

My super (357) mag came with the 8" comp barrel but I finally added the 6" and 10" full lug barrels from DW to go with the 4" I already had.

I was able to get a range bag from the "Bag Guy" at the last gun show--it has several pouches on each side to accomodate the barrel sets and the outer pouches accept the tools and grips

How long ago did you get the other barrels from DW?  Will they still provide Super Mag Barrels??  I would really like an 8" Shroud.

Just talked to Shawn from Dan Wesson.  Ordered the 8" barrel shroud and the barrel.  He said I would come laser etched .357 Super Mag.  No estimate on time of delivery.  I am in no hurry.  Thanks for the info.
