Hello all, showing some pics of my new acquisition, had her now for a couple of weeks and finally got to shoot this weekend. Once again thank you to this fantastic forum as l did a full strip down and clean+lube to this salubrious pistol prior to throwing slugs down range.
l'm amazed at the handling and recoil of the Rem max...its a cartridge that is so pleasant to shoot that l will still have a grin on my face next week l love my 44mag SRH (Ruger) but after 75-100 full house loads l'm done for the day if you know what l mean.
Looking forward to reloading this round so if anyone has a pet load please do tell. l found that the DW wooden grip was nice but l much preferred the Pachmayr presentation grip.It fits my hand like a glove, my girlfriend even liked it as well
l put my 715 side by side with the SuperMag and was blown away by the difference.

A few years ago, when our son was home on leave, we visited a local a gun shop that I rarely visit and stumbled across a model 40, the blue version of yours. In addition to the gun and extra barrel, he got a couple hundred bullets, 300+ brass, an extra grip, maybe a third barrel? As I recall it was a mid $400 purchase
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Excellent Pics and sweet cap. I too just picked up a Model 40 with a 10" barrel. Mine is blued. I also like the way that the Pachmayr Grips feel compared to the wood grips, but at least for the first trip to the range my super mag will wear the wood grips.
I have about 140 rounds of Jamison .357 Maximum 158 Grain ammo. As soon as I shoot this up, I will be reloading as well and I intend to post my load data somewhere on this site so hopefully we can maybe help each other out with some reloading info.
Would enjoy owning that sweet Dan Wesson Ball Cap.
