There is another thread in the Small Frame section on Oz's .22 SRS.  Supermagfan commented that he has 2 and knew of only 1 other in .41 mag.  Oz's makes 4 and this beauty that rolled in recently makes 5.  It's a Norwich .357SM SRS First Issue with an extra scope base-mounted shroud.  It looks like it's only had a couple rounds through it and is just as it was when it left Norwich.  It's the first I've seen with the underside of the shroud slotted.  Are there any others out there?  I was thinking of evicting it from the safe and putting it on the chopping block,  but seeing that they're pretty elusive it might hang around for a while.  But I guess trades might always an option!lol2

Man where did you come up with that one!  The bottom slot is a new one to me though so are the SM's.    Hang on to it unless as said you clear room for other toys.   Kansas  could use it for show and tell!  occasion

Awesome. I have seen a few with the bottom slots but not many. I think IHMSA 80X80 has one IIRC. I would definitely have to hang on to that one, probably have to dust off the ole silhouette mat and give it a go.

Very cool-- Proportions of that one make it look just right.

That's gorgeous.  Thanks for the cool-pics.

Is it just me or is the finish just a little different?  To me, most of the stainless guns look either dull or medium gray.  Yours seems to have a gorgeous luster to it.  Maybe it's better surface prep?  I can't see any of the grind marks like mine had and I've seen on some others.

That is a pretty gun.  drool

Harly,

That sure is worship a sight to behold.  You want to keep a hold of that one.   Remember it also has a Bomar sitting on top of that frame!  Very nice aquisition there.

Yup. I believe that Dean has one with a V10S with 2 slots on the bottom, or maybe it's Phil.

Whatever, you might want to view their collections, just make sure you have a drool bucket.

Dean's got a pair of "additional slot" guns, a .41 & a .414, if I recall.

Harly, that's a really cool find. Yours is the first 357 SM SRS I've seen, and in a Norwich "caseless Pac" no less. Really cool.  Mucho thanks for showing it off!worship cool-pics

The barrel is also reduced between the threaded areas, I've got a barrel like that that came with a Monson slotted shroud for IHSMA.  The standard barrel that came with the gun is thicker between the threads.  That would almost be too pretty to shoot, but if I had it, I'd have to see how it shot.  The last time I saw a Bomar setup for a DW, it went for $325 at auction, used.cool-picswelcome

Outstanding dwas That is a definite keeper. Yes, I DO have the .41 Magnum SRS, which has 8 slots on the 10" barrel. My original Palmer 7414 has the fifth slot on the bottom of the barrel shroud.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Here's the 1995 Palmer .414SM with the 5th slot under the shroud, and the .41 Mag SRS development gun with 8 slots.
