I noticed the Models description for the 360 Dan Wesson states that it was only available in stainless as a 7360 from Norwich. Does anyone else have a Blue 360 Norwich First Issue?Ive not seen a 7360 and would love to find one.
Something like this? The photo's not the greatest but you can enlarge it and you get the idea. It's one of my favorites...a super heavy duty .357. It doesn't get any better than that. I'm glad I bought the extra 2 brls. when they were available. Eventually when when it goes to a new owner, there's 3K rounds of new Starline .360 brass and 200 rounds of DW .360 ammo. to go with it.
I remember when I found it at a gun show in Orlando years ago. At that time I didn't really know what it was other than "a big .357". I wasn't sure about it and didn't have much money back then, so I passed on it and drove the 100 miles back home. After I got home I thought about it and did a little research on it, and I realized what I passed on. I got in my car the first thing next morning and drove back to Orlando, and it was still sitting there in the guy's display case. I've never fired it and it looks like the previous owner didn't either, but I assume it's had a cylinder of rounds passed through it. I think this and the Norwich unfluted .7414VH10 (it's still NIB) are the crown jewels. Maybe the .460 also.

Dakota jack, that's it. I'd love to get a stainless one to go with my blue one. These don't surface very often, in any finish.
I seldomly use the term "Rare" because it is often used to exaggerate the unavailability or scarcity of an item. In this case, I'd definitely say this is a "Rare" gun.

I'm a bit confused about the 360. Is it a supermag? I thought that would be a 740 or a 40 so what is the difference between a 357 maximum Supermag and a 360 or 7360? different yet they both shoot a 357 magnum? Thanks I look forward to knowing why they made two different yet almost the same gun? (Edited) I found the thread tying to explain the two. They were so close this was Norwich trying to fix the 357 max problems with a slightly shorter casing or in-between a 357 max and a 357 magnum. no wonder why the 7360 or 360 are so rare. You could get a 40 or 740 from all three companies but the 360 only from Norwich is what i'm seeing. Lots of stuff about forcing cones and velocity and my mind is exploding!
Stan, you basically have all the info. The 357 Supermag has forcing cone eroding with light bullets and top strap etching which seems to stop after a while as the steel hardens. DW solved the forcing cone problem by including a second barrel with every gun. That is why there are extra 357 Max barrels floating around.
The 360 /7360 is a large frame gun, not a Supermag. It is like a 357 Mag and a 357 Supermag got married and had a big family. You can't chamber it in a 357 Mag but a Model 40 chambers all 3. And 38 Special also.
