I have been able to add two large frame revolvers to the collection this past week. This 41 Mag is a real gem. I have no idea if these 41 Mags ever came as Pac from the Factory, This Pac was constructed by the fellow I biught it from. The 4" shroud was made by EWK. No serial number on the luggage, no paper work. Had the gun stripped down and while it has been shot, the internals look relatively untouched, hard to say if this gun was ever apart before. This is so far the nicest Dan Wesson that I have the pleasure of owning.

Nice score!
The 41 pacs usually had a 6" and 8" BA's, not the 4 barrel sets like the small frames. Yours is looks to be in very nice condition, congrats.

One thing I noticed when taking the 741 apart is that it has two shroud locator pins. One in in the normal spot and the 2nd is on top of the frame. Was this done on any other Dans? or was two shroud locator pins unique to the 741? It seems like a good idea and would add an additional level of stability/alignment.

I had a chance to get this bad mama Jamma out to the range this past week and It is awesome. My first 41 Mag and I am impressed with the cartridge and now want a Smith and a Ruger Redhawk in 41 Mag. This is a heavy weight and can be loaded with both thumpers and plinkers. I am thinking it is actually heavier than the 44 Mag as there i ever so slightly less metal removed form the cylinder. Gotta feeling this gun is going to be going to the range with me more than any other in the months to come. DWAS maybe temporarily cured but what is 41 Mag WAS???
