Well after much delay I finally got to shoot the DW. This of course after I set the barrel gap to .003" with my new EWK wrench (which is a nicely crafted piece of equipment by the way). I used some S&B 240 grain ammo from Cabelas which was the least expensive 44 ammo they had. At 150 yards it kept 36 shots on an eight inch paper plate. Fully content with that I set my sights on a row of four beer bottles at 95 yards and with five shots I got three of them. I think I might hang on to this one ! All shots were off of a solid bench with a set of sandbags. I couldn't be happier with my DW. For those that might be offended by shooting bottles I was at a privately owned gravel pit.

Wow ! Beer bottles at 95 yards with open sights is some pretty awesome
shooting there. I love the sound of shooting glass and steel, did in an
old 32 inch TV a couple weeks ago with a dozen rounds of 44…. that was
at 20 yrds and never missed a hit …yep.. I'm a dead eye
I must be getting slow , just dawned on me your login name

Well, as long as they were empty, I'm not offended, but if you're shooting NIB (New In Bottle), WHOA THERE!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
