Whoa that is one tough lookin' hunk of beauty of a pistol Jaggman! I've never seen a scope mount like that. And nice grip too, is that an LB?
When you pull that thing out at the range, I bet it gets drooled over by every guy there!

I think the unfluted cylinder looks so great, and I agree that the scope mount is unusual. Is it held in just with one pin,or is it drilled and tapped?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

WOW check out that serial number! Is that a First Issue? Has it been fired?
Beautiful gun! A 460 is on my short list along with a 45 and a 414. Who knows, I may live long enough to find them.

Doug, Welcome to DWF.
.460 Rowland is pretty uncommon to begin with, and there is certainly a special history behind that S/N.
Dan Wesson was actually pretty pretty active with custom S/N's. My favorite is "Celtic-17", a 15-2 purchased by a fan living in Weston, MA, on 12/26/1978 as a gift to the Boston Celtic's John Havlicek, who retired in 1978
