Took the boar at Tioga Lodge in north central Pennsylvania. This was a close shot of 20 to 25 yards as I ambushed him on a trail…..He was quartered toward me yet I had complete penetration with the XTP.

See.. I want to go hard mode and try with my 15-2... thanks for sharing that... makes me soo want to try it.

Have you tried Honady's FTX in .44 Mag ? I lov'em and I guarentee to perform.
I have had a 50/50 results with the XTP not expanding when it only passed
through soft tissue, if it hit some bone it was great but if it didn't sometimes
It would make one little hole in and out. Don't get me wrong the XTP can be a
good performer but the FTX is so much better. Not to mention I have 3 different
make .44's and all group unbelievably tight with the FTX.

Blacktop, When the 44FTX ammo first came out I tried them in my Freedom Arms and was surprised that they did not group so good and this was only at 25yds. I have not shot them in my DW....I do know that Remingtons 275gr Core-Lock and Speers 270gr Gold Dot ammo work well in my 744 giving me around 3" groups at 100yds. I`ve always had good expansion and penetration with XTP bullets from 357 to 475, however, next time I get to the range I will shoot the 44FTX ammo from my DW. I know that the FTX bullets perform good with the whitetail and boar I`ve taken with Hornady`s 200gr FTX ammo from my S&W 460.....
