I am proud to say that I finally finished this Dan Wesson Supermag build project. The only thing left to add is a set a custom order Hogue Coco Bolo checkered big butt grips. This gun started out as an unfired 375 Supermag. It was sent to Reeder Custom Guns in Flagstaff AZ for the 375 GNR conversion, engraving, and a matte black Chromex finish. I then added a 2X Leupold scope and an EWK Arms muzzle brake to finish out the package. The 375 GNR is a necked down 445 Supermag cartridge. I designed a custom 200 grain wide flat nose bullet on the Mountain Molds website as the primary bullet for this gun. It has no problem reaching 1900 fps with AA1680 powder.
I've got two other supermag projects in the works. My next one is a near completed stainless 445 Supermag with an EWK muzzle brake. I'll be posting those pics as soon as my scope arrives. The last Supermag project involved a damaged 357 Supermag that I picked up at a local gun shop for about $450. The barrel nut was seized and the shroud was dinged up from the previous owners attempts to remove it. Other than that, the gun had only been fired less than 20 rounds! I sent it off to Reeder Custom Guns over the summer and they forwarded it to Dan Wesson for the barrel nut removal. When they got it back they stripped the gun down and cleaned and polished the internals. They then used a welding technique to fill in the bad dings and then polished out the scratches. It was then given a high gloss black Chromex finish. The entire job cost about $480 shipped. I now have a 357 Supermag that's better than new. I'll be posting that one here soon as well.
Also, if you need any custom supermag barrels especially in 375 caliber Reeder Custom Guns has them for $250 each. So far they have impressed me to no end. Even the deep gouge mark in the vented rib was completely removed as if it was never there. Those guys are perfectionists when it comes to Dan Wesson revolvers. And best of all they take payments and work with you if you fall on hard times.

Nice project gun write-up- thanks for sharing. I have a few Reeder tubes; one for my Encore and another for a Contender. Never had the guts to sacrifice one of the Dans for a conversion though. Good to hear you are happy with the 375 GNR.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....
